Greetings, I would like to welcome you to my very first blog. I am delighted to have this opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with you.
For those of you who may not know who I am, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have spent close to twenty years working with individuals who are contending with emotional problems brought on by anxiety, depression, and other issues. I have worked with clients in both group and one-on-one sessions. I have also provided a number of workshops on various mental health topics over the years.
I have a Master's degree in counseling and am the founder and facilitator of the Upstate Group for Panic, Anxiety, and Depression, and the Ray of Hope Wellness Center. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to witness how a wide range of problems have impacted people's lives and have affected their quality of life, as well. These problems not only thwart opportunities for growth and change, but subvert the purposeful life they are meant to live.
I am no stranger to pain and suffering and the emotional problems that affect the human condition. I struggled with debilitating anxiety and depression for many years. I have also been a recipient in the mental health system where I spent close to two decades in therapy and received over four diagnoses. This experience not only shaped my life, but also became instrumental in changing the trajectory of my life. It has allowed me to close the door on the mental health system, and has taken me to the place I am right now.
While working with individuals on my Anxiety and Depression Learning Circle web conference and blog, I will delve into my personal struggles and candidly share my experiences with you. These powerful resources will provide a plethora of information designed to help you reconsider your perception of anxiety and depression. Each web conference and blog will be unique, and you will receive the tools, techniques, and knowledge you need to make informed decisions about your mental health, as well as compassion and understanding from a person who has dealt with anxiety and depression firsthand.
I welcome the opportunity to get to know you as we build a supportive, online community that we can navigate together, and to new opportunities to provide workshops, lectures, and presentations or share my newest book with you.
